Module 4c: Your qualifications and experience
What past training or work experience do you have that qualifies you to manage and operate your proposed enterprise?
The more you can build on what you already know, the greater your chances of success. If you have experience in the particular area that you are interested in, you probably already know the important "ins" and "outs" of the business, and so can avoid mistakes that you otherwise might make. If you have some experience in managing something, then you know how your own personality interacts with those you need to work with, whether they be customers, employees, suppliers or others. Think carefully about your background and how it prepares and qualifies you for this new venture. You will need to be able to explain this clearly for your own benefit as well as anyone elses you need to work with. Discussing you answer with your counselor or mentor will help to clarify your explanation as well. In Step 2, you listed the areas where you have training and experience. Go back and review your answers - then use those answers to write this section.
If you've completed Step 2b: Personal Skills Inventory during this session, the following fields will be populated with your answers. If you've completed 2b at another time, you should have an email record of the results. Otherwise, please go to Step 2b: Personal Skills Inventory and complete the form.
